January 10, 1952 — March 19, 2023

WOODLAWN

Allyn James Lietz, age 71, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, March 19, 2023. He was born January 10, 1952 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Darrel and Roberta (Maxwell) Lietz.

Allyn was a truck driver having drove for NOTS Trucking in Nashville, Illinois for several years. He loved to listen to KMOV talk radio, cheer on his favorite baseball team- the Cardinals, watch Nascar, and spend time tormenting all of his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews by twisting his ears and spitting out his false teeth, as well as pulling other silly tricks and pranks.

He was a member of the Mount Vernon Moose Lodge, Jefferson County Krazy Klowns, and he was a 32nd Degree Free Mason of the Washington Lodge #0055 in Nashville, Illinois.

He met and married the love his life, Kim M. Nehrkorn on December 5, 1987. This 35 year union was blessed with twin daughters, Allyssa (Adam) Agnew of Pinckneyville, IL and Kelsey Lietz-Mannen of Woodlawn, IL; grandchildren, Ayden Bergman, Brenlee Agnew, Callynn Agnew, and Rowen Mannen, all of whom miss Allyn deeply; others left to mourn his passing, Greg Lietz of Ashley, IL, Lindsey (Cathy) Lietz of Nashville, IL, Lori (Tom) Segelhorst of Venedy, IL, John (Lori) Lietz of Clarksville, TN, and James (Dawn) Lietz of Hoyleton, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bradley Lietz; father-in-law, Kenneth Nehrkorn.

Per Allyn’s request there will be no services held. He asked that family and friends drink a cold Busch Beer in his honor or grab a 12-pack of Dr. Pepper and reminisce about the crazy antics that he pulled throughout his lifetime.
