Austin B. Greene

Austin Brent Greene, 37, of Carlinville, Illinois (formerly of Scott City, Missouri), passed away on May 20, 2025, at Integrity Healthcare Facility in Carbondale, Illinois. He was born on October 27, 1987, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Phillip Greene and Kristina (Krepps) Leimer.

Austin was a devout Christian, known for his dedication to sharing God’s word with anyone who would listen. He worked as a traveling welder, and during breaks between jobs, he also worked for Uber in the St. Louis area. He had a great love for animals, especially his beloved cats—Theodore, Oliver, and Molly. Austin held a deep affection for San Antonio, Texas, and was grateful to make one final visit to his favorite city before his passing.

He is survived by his mother, Kristina (Scott) Leimer of Jackson, MO; his father, Phillip (Penni) Greene of Carbondale, IL; his brother, Dylen Greene of Carlinville, IL; and his stepsister, Katlyn (Ridge) Farrow of Jackson, MO. He is also survived by his step-grandparents, Herb and Dorothy Leimer of Jackson, MO; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Austin shared a particularly close spiritual bond with his Aunt Katrina Hodges.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Darlene Krepps of Malden, MO, and Joe and Della Greene of Bernie, MO.

A small celebration of life for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
