Autumn "Blue" Cole

November 12, 1980 — May 26, 2024

Makanda

Autumn "Blue" Cole, 43, of Makanda Illinois, tragically passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 12:59 pm.  Her life met an untimely and violent end. Her last act of love was to give the gift of hope to 5 transplant families.

Home birthed November 12, 1980, in a quaint Carbondale home, Autumn arrived in this world blue as the sky, but was none-the-less a vibrant force from the start. Her parents, Jennifer Boyd and Ronald Cole, raised her spirited and fearless.

Autumn's life was a tapestry of adversity and triumph, of darkness and light. She was a champion of the underdog, and always befriended the outcast, dreamer, and traveler.

Autumn was formidable. She was your best friend or worst nightmare. Autumn stood by her principles, talked with her trees, swam in the streams, and always lit the bonfire with a little extra gas. She rode a hard life but stood true to Blue.

Autumn is survived by her strong son Michael, her beautiful daughter Ellie, mother Jennifer, father Ronald, brother Aaron (Kelly), nephews Archer and Milo, uncle Jeff, aunt Jacqui, cousin Colin, and her beloved dog Louie.  But Autumn’s family was more than blood.  If you knew her, you were family.  She is survived, by you.

Autumn is off on her next fearless adventure to be with her grandmothers, grandfathers, long lost brothers and sisters from other mothers and fathers, and of course her dear puppy dog Rosco. We will see her again.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Good Shepherd in Carbondale IL, Saturday June 22nd at 1:00 p.m., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please help create a better future for her daughter Ellie through GoFundMe https://gofund.me/6be0997f

Professional Services were Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
