Barbara Ann Hudson, 71, of Carbondale, Illinois passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Barbara was born to the late Thomas Hudson Jr. and Evelyn (Robinson) Hudson on April 24, 1952, in Mound City, Illinois and is one of ten children.
Barbara graduated from Meridian High School class of 1970. She then went on continuing her education at Shawnee Community College and Southern Illinois University.
Barbara moved to Carbondale, Illinois in 1986, where she established a career in healthcare and later retired from Carbondale Middle School as a Teacher’s Aid in 2014.
Barbara found Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church in Mound City, Illinois. She started attending New Zion Missionary Baptist Church when she moved to Carbondale, Illinois. Barbara enjoyed cooking, hosting holidays, knitting, and spending time with her family. Her favorite activities were taking care of her plants, crafting, and watching true crime shows. She enjoyed shopping for herself and her family. She was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Hudson Jr.; brother: Roderick Hudson; her sisters, Lawanda Hudson and Cherry Robinson.
Barbara leaves behind her three daughters, Tara Hudson-Hull (Ronald), Brandy Hudson (Everett), and Demika Hudson; mother, Evelyn Hudson; grandchildren, Tyler Stevenson (Martez), Amiya Hudson, Ronald Hull Jr., India Blackman, Travier Montgomery, Leilani Blackman, and Zavier Montgomery; one great-grandchild, Zamari Stevenson; siblings, Thomas (Janet) Hudson III, Darrell Hudson, Kevin Hudson, Billy Hudson, Michael Hudson, Karen, and Patronia “Patty” Hudson; special friends, Dyanna Vanlare, Betty Green, Sarita Ivy-Curtis and a host of other relatives and friends.
