Obituary

Beverly Ann Moore, affectionately known as "Belle," went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She was born on December 9, 1953, in Carbondale, Illinois, to the late James and Vera (Holcomb) Moore, Sr.

Belle attended Attucks High School and Carbondale Community High School. Throughout her life, she worked in various positions within the healthcare field. She especially enjoyed her final two careers at Prairie Living at Chautauqua and as an assistant cook at Carbondale Community High School, where she found fulfillment serving others.

She was well known for her warm hospitality and the joy she found in gathering with family and friends on her front porch. Her music was always playing loud enough for the neighbors to enjoy right along with her. She took great pride in maintaining her home, mowing her own yard, tending to her flowers, and decorating her house with beautiful furnishings. She appreciated life's simple pleasures and created a welcoming home filled with love and laughter.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tammitha "Tammy" Moore, Samantha "Sam" Moore, Vera "Precious" (Lawrence) Greer, and Glenn Fowler; her grandchildren, Ciera Freeman, Lakeya Moore, Michael Freeman, Chasity Hubbard, Calvarae Harden, Mckyra Moore, Joshua Harden, Jamera Hubbard, Naasir Fowler, and Camari'yae Fowler, Gilliana Fowler and A'Layah Fowler; her great-grandchildren, Kierra Freeman, Kahmaj Freeman, Ka'Ron Walker, Khalil Hubbard, Da'Vid Parks, Ocean Hart, Jason Hart, Genesis Hart, Journey Hart, and Jordyn Rhoades; her sister, Brenda Moore; her brothers, George "Tommy" Moore and Jeffery "Jeff" Moore; and her special friends, Cathy Crocker, Betty Covington, Latausha Mitchell, Carolyn Alexander, and Karen Speller, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Vera Moore, Sr.; her brothers, James "Jimmy" Moore and Jerry "Jay" Moore; and her sisters, Bernadette "Bonnie" Moore and Betty Jean Moore.

Belle's generous spirit, infectious laughter, love for family, and welcoming heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ministry of Comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
