Brenda Louise Burke

Brenda Louise Burke (64) of Murphysboro, Illinois passed away at her home on June 23rd, 2025.

Brenda was born on February 20th, 1961 in Hammond, Indiana and she graduated from Frankfort Community High School in West Frankfort, Illinois in 1979. She was a loving Mother, former police officer, and avid outdoors lover who enjoyed traveling and engaging in new experiences in her free time. She had a wide range of interests and skills including degrees in welding and phlebotomy in addition to many certifications and training for her role as a police officer. She always immersed herself fully into her hobbies and interests, wanting perfection in all that she accomplished.

Brenda was preceded in death by her first Husband, William A. Todd, Mother, Florence Kluga and Father, Harlen E. Burke, her sisters Rachel (Peaches) Marie Burke, Theresa Burke, and nephew William Burke.

She is survived by her loving son, Jeremy Todd and daughter-in-law Kelly Stonesifer, her loving sisters and brothers...Cheryl Burke, Harlen Burke, Valorie Williams, Leslie Burke, William Burke, Raymond Burke and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

To honor Brenda’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. She wanted a celebration of life so please honor her by sharing happy memories and remembering her joyfully.
