Carla F. Chamness

Carla Chamness, 77, of Herrin passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Carla was born on May 11, 1947, to the union of Carl and Virginia Lee (Bivens) Jarvis in Johnston City, Illinois.

Carla completed her Licensed Practical Nursing certificate and was proud to be a part of the nursing staff at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin. She was a devoted grandma and loved to decorate.

Carla is survived by her two daughters, Tammy and Leca Chamness; sister, Barbara (Dale) Malone; grandchildren, Joshua Hall, Hailey Hall, Megan Whitecotton; great grandchildren, Brayden and Brylyn Hall, Hayden Skelton and Kayden Tolbert; special niece, Amber Burks and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Betty Gilbert.

Carla will be missed by both family and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at the Park Avenue Church of God, 2019 N. Park Avenue, Herrin Illinois with Pastor Philip Rexing officiating.

Professional Services were Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
