Darlene J. Kyndberg

Darlene J. Kyndberg, age 90, a resident of Palos Heights, Illinois since 1964, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026.

She was born and raised in Waukegan, Illinois, to Frederick and Elizabeth Larsen. Darlene was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late Robert W. Kyndberg.

Darlene was a loving mother to Sharon (Frank) Wojtowicz of Barrington, Illinois, and Kathleen (Robert Jasen) Kyndberg of Carbondale, Illinois. She was a cherished grandmother to Derek (Sarah) Wojtowicz, Brooke (Harry Morse) Wojtowicz, Nola Wojtowicz, and Anika Jansen (fiancé Samuel Koehler), and a proud great-grandmother to Julia, Katie, and Elizabeth. Darlene was also a dear cousin and friend to many, all of whom will miss her dearly.

For many years, Darlene was a devoted caregiver, providing loving and compassionate care to numerous children in her home and earning the lasting gratitude of their families. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and, above all, nurturing and caring for her family. She touched many lives and will be fondly remembered for her cheerful smile, sense of humor, and adventurous spirit.

A private celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at the Wayside Chapel at the Center at Francesca’s Vicinato in Palos Park, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Lake Katherine Nature Center in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Ministry of Comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
