Doris Lorraine Frazier Hughes

Doris Lorraine Frazier Hughes Age 77, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away on April 27, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1948, to Bill and Mary Frazier.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life, Dale Hughes, on August 22, 1981, and together they shared many years of love and family.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Hughes; daughters, Sharon Trexler and Brandi Hughes; grandchildren, Patrick Ingram, Kandice Gulley, and Corey VanBuskirk; and great-grandchildren, Damian, Cadence, Alexandria, Kaynan, Maddox Ingram, Junior and Vanessa Romero, and Jeffrey Cralley. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Frazier; her siblings, Harold Frazier (Debbie) and Cindy Ruble (Kevin); and many other loved relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Frazier; her siblings, Lena and Logan Frazier; her son-in-law, Richard Trexler; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lowell and Laura Hughes; and her brother-in-law, David Hughes.

Doris will be remembered as one of the sweetest and kindest women you could ever meet. She devoted her life to caring for her family and others, serving as a homemaker and caregiver to elderly friends and loved ones. She had a gentle spirit and a giving heart that showed in everything she did.

She loved her home, her family, her fur babies, and the simple joys of life. She enjoyed going to church and dancing to music whenever she could. Even in recent years, when she was unable to attend church regularly, she remained faithful to God throughout her life, holding her faith close in her heart until the very end.

Her love, kindness, and quiet strength will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Ministry of comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
