Elizabeth C. Kovach

October 7, 1984 — March 20, 2024

Desoto

Elizabeth Colleen “Liz” Kovach, age 39, of Desoto, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at her residence. She was the most loving mother, sister, daughter and friend, a shining light from the beginning. She was always exuberant and vivacious with a determination that carried into adulthood.

Liz was born on October 7, 1984 in Tyler, TX, she was the daughter of the late John “Brian” and Cynthia (Price) Kovach.

Liz received her education from the Cobden Elementary School System and later graduated from Carbondale Community High School.

She worked for Southern Illinois Healthcare as a Referral Specialist until her passing. She wrote many articles for her community and was loved by all who knew her.

Liz always saw the good side of every person she met, a true underdog cheerleader. She loved music with a passion, often sharing it with her family and friends. Although she had many academic achievements, her heart never wavered from her aspirations to become a journalist. Liz was easily one of the smartest people in any given room. Always with a shoulder to cry on, caretaking was her specialty. She loved her community fiercely, from the friends at PK's to the Girls Rock Roulette Ladies, when she showed up, she showed out in true magical fire-breathing rainbow unicorn dragon fashion.

She is survived by her fiancé, Joseph Trexler; her two children and their father, Joshua Stewart; her mother, Cynthia Kovach; her sister, Sara (William) Thompson; her brother, Charles “Brovach” Kovach; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John “Brian” Kovach; one sister, Laura Olson; and her beloved “Mimi and PawPaw”, Charles and Doris Kovach.

In honor of her memory, contributions can be made to the family.
