Fred Ray House

Fred Ray House, 74, of DeSoto, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Murphysboro, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on September 20, 1950, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Fred and Jane (Crane) House. On June 26, 1968, he married Susan Piper in Perryville, Missouri, and she survives.

Fred was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and will be remembered for his faith, his deep love for his family, and his kind and generous spirit.

In addition to his beloved wife, Susan, Fred is survived by his children: Sheila (Tim) Loyd of Murphysboro and Joshua House of DeSoto; five grandchildren: Sabrina (Ryan) Doellman, Rebekah Loyd, Ray (Shelby) Loyd, Jesse (Courtney) Loyd, and Rachel House; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Linda (John) Burnett of Marion and Carla (Jim) Green of Murphysboro; one brother, Kenny (Ruby) House of Pittsburg; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin infant brothers, Ronnie and Donnie House.

In accordance with his wishes, Fred will be cremated, and no formal services will be held.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
