Gayle A. Darter

Gayle A. Darter, age 61, of Herrin, Illinois passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family.

She was born on April 12, 1962, to the late Frankie E. and Joyce (Bloodworth) Starrick in Dalton, Georgia.

She was united in marriage with Keith Darter Sr. on July 16, 1979, and born to this union were two boys, Keith Jr. and Lonnie R. Darter.

Gayle was employed as a cook for the Herrin School District until her passing.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Keith Darter Sr.; her sons, Keith (Jennifer) Darter Jr. and Lonnie R. Darter; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frankie E. and Joyce Starrick; her daughter, Penny Marie Darter; one brother, Mike Starrick.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm at All Nations Church in Marion, Illinois with Pastor Rod Joplin, officiating. 

Professional Services were Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
