Jack D. Carter, Jr., beloved husband, son, and friend, passed away on May 21, 2025, in Murphysboro, Illinois. He was born on January 8, 1960, to Jackie and Shirley Carter.

Jack had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He found joy in fishing, hiking, mushroom hunting, riding his motorcycle, and boating on the lake. A passionate gardener and cook, Jack loved preparing meals and sharing them with loved ones. He had a great love for nature and was rarely happier than when surrounded by it.

He was an avid fan of football and enjoyed listening to talk radio and watching nature programs. Jack had a special bond with animals, particularly dogs, and his kind spirit was evident in the way he cared for them.

Above all, Jack cherished his family. He deeply loved his mother, Shirley Spears, and his devoted wife, Maria, who stood by his side through everything.

He is survived by his wife Maria; his mother Shirley Spears; cousin Kevin Mason; niece Rilee; and mother-in-law Maria Johnson.

Jack will be remembered for his generous heart, his adventurous spirit, and his unwavering love for those closest to him. He will be greatly missed.

Final Arrangements were Lovingly Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
