James H. Luepkes

February 4, 1971 — May 25, 2022

WEST FRANKFORT

James "Jim" Hiram Luepkes, 51, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

He was born in Freeport, IL on February 4, 1971 to William "Bill" and Olive "Janell" Luepkes.

Jim followed in his dad's footsteps and became a Carpenter and a Brick Mason. He worked on the barges on the Mississippi River for several years, which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He was all about being outdoors! He loved to hunt, fish, and ride his motorcycle and four wheelers every chance he got.

Jim would often talk about frying up his daily catch from his secret fishing spot. He loved watching the Green Bay Packers football games while texting his brothers and brother-in-laws back and forth.

He loved family gatherings and looked forward to Thanksgiving as it was one of his favorite times with everyone home together for the holidays.

Jim was the youngest and will be forever loved and missed by his family and very close friends Brent, Steve, and of course "Snatcher" his beloved cat.

Surviving are his siblings, Eva (Mark) McAloon of Freeport, IL, Bradley (Jennifer) Zettle of Grand Chain, IL, Kim (Darrell) Grove of West Frankfort, IL, Paula (Ernie) Gurley of Benton, KY, Toni (Danny) Furlow of Coello, IL, Chris Brinkmeier of Benton, IL and many special nieces and nephews.

Jim's wishes were to be cremated. He will be laid to rest along side his Beloved mother and father.

Services will be held at a later date.

*Special thanks to the Healthcare Hospice Nurses Christina and Elizabeth and all the doctors and nursing staff. Truly angels on earth God Bless you all.
