Jimmy Lee Stuckey, Sr., affectionately known as “Paw” or “The Big Kahuna,” departed this life on Tuesday, November 18, 2026, at Manor Court of Carbondale. He was born on November 26, 1941, in Grenda, Mississippi, to the late Nora and Johnnie Lou Stuckey.
At a young age, he met a young lady named Margaret Clay, and to this union three children were born: Jimmy Lee, Jr., Sandra “Trigger,” and Alice Rachel.
Jimmy later moved to Bertrand, Missouri, where he continued a life of hard work and dedication to providing for his family. He eventually settled in Charleston, Missouri, where he met Rosemary Jones. With her mother’s permission, he began courting her, and to this union five children were born: Demetrius, LaSonya, Troy, Chetaka, and LaToya.
Throughout his life, Jimmy worked many jobs. He was employed for many years with CBG and Grain in Mound City, Illinois. In his later years, he worked in agricultural farming throughout Southern Illinois and for Richard Farms in Charleston, Missouri.
Jimmy enjoyed a life filled with fishing, hunting, and spending time with the family he created and loved so deeply. Above all, he treasured being a grandfather—his greatest joy—and he was well known for giving everyone he met a nickname.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Jimmy Lee, Jr (Neorah). and Troy (Chanel) Stuckey; four daughters, Chetaka Stuckey, LaToya (Michael) Stephens, Sandra Kaye Robinson, and Alice Rachel Banks; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis Stuckey, Beverly (Michael) Thomas, and Faye (Perry) Flowers; two brothers, Danny (Janet) Stuckey and Kennie (Shae) Stuckey; a loving friend, Cheryl Andrews; a special mother in law Lillie Mae Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a lifelong friend and mother of his children, Rosemary Jones Reeves; two children, Demetrius and LaSonya Stuckey; and his siblings: Alford Stuckey, Norah Taylor, Ida Dennis, Ruth Richardson, Lou Ella Savage, Clara Hill, Charles Stuckey, James Lee Stuckey, James Turner, Lonnie Stuckey, Addie Stuckey, and Bobby Stuckey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jennifer and the staff of Manor Court of Carbondale for their extended compassion and care.
