Jo Ann Kettmann

Joann Kettmann, age 78, of Steeleville, Illinois, passed away on November 18, 2025, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale due to complications from a stroke. She was born on January 1, 1947, in Dowell, Illinois, to her parents, Henry and Adele Loeh.

Joann is survived by her husband, Bruce; her daughter, Michelle (Rob) Gilliam; her sisters, Jaci Bert, Jill (Tom) Snider, and Jeanne Loeh; and her grandchildren, Michael Jr., Ashley, Matthew, and Michaelie Jo. She is also survived by her closest friends, Marlene Verdun and Laura Howie, and by her cousin, LaDonna (Donald) Holmes.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael.

Joann was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. A gentle soul with a kind and giving heart, she touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Joann during her time of need. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or St. Mary’s Catholic School in Chester, Illinois.
