CARBONDALE
John Henry Lewis, 77, of Carbondale, IL passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his residence.
He was born May 5, 1946 in Murphysboro, IL to the late Norah and Willie Mae (Langford) Lewis.
In accordance with the wishes of John Henry Lewis cremation rites will be accorded. The Lewis family will have a Celebration of Life Service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm followed by a reception and fellowship from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The event will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Murphysboro Event Center, 1329 Walnut St, Murphysboro, IL. Those who attend are welcome to share stories or memories during the celebration.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that all memorial contributions be sent to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, 520 N. 17th Street, Murphysboro, Illinois 62966.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services.
