Joveon D. Wilkins

Joveon D. Wilkins, 20, of Marion, Illinois, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center.

He was born on January 17, 2006, in Carbondale, Illinois, to Angel Jones.

Joveon attended Marion Community Unit School District 2. He had a passion for making music and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He could often be found hanging out with his three special cousins, Little Lonnie Jr., Lonnell, and Lamarius Petty, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Joveon was excited to begin a new chapter in his life and was looking forward to starting his first day of employment at Aisin Manufacturing before his untimely passing.

He leaves to cherish his memory his two brothers, Antwan Petty and Jamarrion Wilkins; his godsister, CaMauria Jones; his nieces, Envy and Evianna Taylor, and Nianna and Nila Petty; his grandmother, Mary Johnson; his special uncles, Marvin Graham and Gregory Jones; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Angel Jones; his brother, Nigia Petty; his grandparents, Kathy Jones and Leon Higgins; and his great-grandmother, Vera Choate.

Though his time on earth was brief, Joveon touched many lives with his presence. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Ministry of comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
