Kale William Skorcz

May 20, 2010 — February 23, 2026

Marion

Kale W. Skorcz, a true warrior and fighter throughout his 15 years of life, was called home to God on February 23, 2026, at his home.

He was born on May 20, 2010, in Belleville, Illinois, to Ashley Ryder and Dale Skorcz.

Kale touched the lives of all who had the honor of meeting him. He had a warm, radiant spirit and a smile that could light up any room. Despite his disabilities, Kale was never defined by them. He was embraced fully by his family and peers, always surrounded by love, patience, and understanding.

His lifelong journey with autism and epilepsy never dimmed his light. Though he spent time in many hospitals, his joy remained constant. While he could not express himself with words, his love was unmistakable. Whether through a tight hug, a gentle pat on the back, a kiss on the forehead, or simply a whiff of your hair, Kale made sure you felt his love.

He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures — enjoying his favorite snacks, riding in the car with the music turned up loud, swinging on the front porch, and soaking up the warmth of the sun. Kale never knew hate; his heart was filled only with love. The impact he made on everyone blessed to know him will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his mother, Ashley Ryder (Kevin Jackson); his brother, Dalyn Skorcz (Carson Weber); and his sister, Ashlyn Skorcz (Tyson Peldo). his father, Dale Skorcz (Sarah Svelha). He is also survived by his grandparents, Karma (Loren) Potts, Ricky Ryder, Melissa (Andrew) Roberts, and Alvin (Teri) Skorcz; his uncles and aunts, Josh (Grace) Ryder, Blayke (Courtney) Walz, Tiffany Ries, Michelle Walz, and Lauren Skorcz; as well as several cousins and extended family members.
