Linwood Riley of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away peacefully on the morning of October 10, 2024, at the Nature Trail Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Linwood was born on January 11, 1942, to the late Sherman and Dora Riley in Tunica, Mississippi. He attended Rosa Fort School and later worked as an operator at a steel mill in Flint, Michigan. He was known for his love of fishing, working on cars, and spending time with family. Linwood was also a proud Mason, actively participating in social and charity activities.
Linwood was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his children Catherine Riley, Arnetta Boyd, Linwood Riley, Jr., David Riley, and Robert Riley; sisters, Clarine McKnight (David), Pearlie Hurns (Sam), Leanna Nesbit (Rubin), and Nellie Carter (Earl); brother, Edward Riley (Dorothy); along with many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Final Arrangement Lovingly Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Bural Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
