Maretta Hazel Alley

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Maretta Hazel Alley, 91, of Murphysboro, Illinois, who passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at Sunshine Gardens in Marion, Illinois.

Maretta was born in Pomona, Illinois, on April 21, 1935, to Arthur and Hazel Hagler.

Maretta married the love of her life, Oren L. Alley, and together they raised two children, Patricia and Keith. She attended Fairview Christian Church and Pate Chapel Church. Maretta also shared her love of music by playing the piano at Mt. Carbon Christian Church and Jerusalem Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren; her parents; and her beloved son, Keith Alley.

Maretta leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Patricia Perchbacher of Carbondale; grandson, Logan Alley; great-grandson, Grayson Alley; brother-in-law, Darrell Alley; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations or memorials be made to Sunshine Gardens, 442 Comfort Dr., Marion, IL 62959.

The ministry of comfort has been lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
