Mark Linkon

Mark Linkon, age 58, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on November 7, 2025, at Axiom Garden Nursing Home.

He was born on January 29, 1967, in Centralia, Illinois, to Janette Nash and was adopted by Leonard Linkon at age 8.

Mark was known for his independent spirit and strong will. A true survivalist at heart, he held a deep skepticism toward bureaucracy but found great joy in the thrill of alien hunting alongside his beloved pitbull, Skylar.

He worked as a concrete finisher for many years and took great pride in his craft. His skill, dedication, and reputation made him known as one of the top concrete finishers in Southern Illinois.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Cheyanne Linkon of Centralia; his son, Jacob Linkon; his grandson, Gabriel; and his parents, Leonard and Janette.

He was preceded in death by his life partner and soulmate, Catherine Lowe, and his brother, Benjamin.

Ministry of Comfort was Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
