Nancy Morrison Burton, 68, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away in the hospital in Carbondale on 8th September 2026.

Born to Thomas and Joan Morrison, Nancy grew up in the Chicago suburbs. She later attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale graduating with a degree in Education. She worked as a reading specialist for the next 25 years in the United States, Japan and Belgium, and was known for her spirit of generosity and passion for getting all children reading. Nancy always had a big sense of adventure. She loved traveling, camping, antiquing, long walks with her dogs, and spending time with friends. She also loved being active and trying new things from figure skating to flying planes. She had a big heart and a mischievous sense of humour.

She married John Link in 1998 and together they shared 21 years of marriage. She is survived by her children, Alexandra and Margaret; and her siblings: Peggy, Marianne, and Dennis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Joan Morrison; and her husband, John Link.
