Oren LaDell Alley

Oren LaDell Alley, 91, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away on May 28, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on July 13, 1933, in Ava, Illinois, to the union of Oren B. and Grace (Crawford) Alley. Oren proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and participated in historical reenactments such as Rendezvous at Fort de Chartres and Fort Massac.

A skilled carpenter and expert woodworker, Oren dedicated over 50 years to his craft. He met and married the love of his life, Maretta Alley, and together they raised two children: Patricia and Keith.

Oren is survived by his loving wife, Maretta Alley; daughter, Patricia Perschbacher; grandson, Logan Alley; great-grandson, Grayson Alley; brother, Darrell Alley; daughter-in-law, Kelly Mifflin; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Keith Alley.
