Pamela Sue Darling, 68, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, with her devoted family by her side.

She was born on March 31, 1958, in Port Huron, Michigan, to the late William and Elizabeth (Urban) Haken.

Pamela dedicated more than 10 years of service as a cashier at Lowe's. In her free time, she found joy in gardening, crafting, cooking, and caring for her beloved animals. Her greatest pride and happiness were her daughter, Melody, and her grandsons, Carson J. and Owen A, who brought immeasurable love to her life. An avid sports fan, Pamela enthusiastically supported Michigan sports teams, especially the Detroit Red Wings.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter, Melody O'Dell; her treasured grandsons, Carson J. and Owen A; her fiancé, Steven Goldman; two brothers, David Haken and Frank (Barbara) Haken; one sister, Linda (Ray) Grubbs; her brother-in-law, Chuck Neruda; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Haken; her brother, William Haken; and her sisters, Bonnie (John) Higgins and Wendy Neruda.

The Ministry of Comfort has been lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
