Paul Michael Spiller, age 76, of Carterville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 21, 1948, in Anna, Illinois, to Paul L. and Margaret Ann (Brust) Spiller. On November 14, 1967, he married the love of his life, Nancy K. Spiller.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy; daughter, Robin (Jay) Hampton of Carterville; and cherished grandchildren, Chelsie Coulter (fiancé Nick Scroggins) and Trevor Coulter (Elena Novelli) of Herrin. He is also survived by his sisters, Janna Kasper of Anna and Cathy (Lonnie) Hinton of Vienna; sister-in-law, Betty (Jerry Bloch) of Snohomish, Washington; brother-in-law, John (Shirley) Spiller of Prescott Valley, Arizona; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Richard and Lorena Spiller; and his beloved son, Paul Michael Jr.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, aboard the aircraft carrier USS America. He was a lifelong member of VFW Post #3455 in Anna, Illinois. Paul worked in the communications field for 33 years before retiring in 2004.
A private interment will be held at a later date in Cobden Cemetery.
