Polly Elizabeth Linhart, age 80, of Algonquin, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Born near Tiptonville, Tennessee, on March 7, 1944, to Paul and Margaret Strader, Polly graduated high school in 1962 and married Larry Linhart on November 28, 1961. Together they moved to Algonquin, Illinois, in the summer of 1965 and raised three children—Nathan, Renee, and Debbie.
Polly worked in sales support at Lucent Technologies (former Western Electric) from 1977 until her retirement in 2001, where she developed a wonderful knack for solving problems. Polly truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, like chatting with friends and family, traveling, shopping, golfing, and spending time with her nieces, nephews, and later, her grandchildren.
Polly is survived by her former husband, Larry; brother, Edwin; daughter, Debbie; and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul; mother, Margaret; daughter, Renee; and son, Nathan.
Polly's love for her family was evident in every smile, laugh, and warm hug. Her home was a haven filled with the aroma of her famous chocolate chip cookies and the sound of hearty laughter. Polly's legacy of kindness, love, and resilience lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Final arrangements were lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
