Queenie Elizabeth Clark, age 66, of Carbondale, Illinois, peacefully passed away at her home on September 11, 2026.

Queenie was born on July 18, 1960, in Cairo, Illinois, to Eddie and Blanche Clark. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose presence brought love, warmth, and joy to the lives of many.

Throughout her working years, Queenie was employed by Dr. Monroe and his family, where she formed a lasting friendship that continued until the day of her passing. She also worked at the Center for Medical Arts, Big Lots, and Tri-County Special Education. Queenie was known for her caring spirit, her kindness, and the meaningful relationships she built with those around her. The love she shared with family, friends, and those she worked with will always be remembered.

Queenie leaves to cherish her memory her beloved mother, Blanche Clark of Sandusky, Illinois; her daughter, Kiaundra Clark of Carbondale, Illinois; and her siblings, Barbara Clark of Carbondale, Illinois; Eddie Clark Jr. of Sandusky, Illinois; Debra (Haywood) Jones of Tamms, Illinois; Ivory (Leslie) Clark of Murphysboro, Illinois; Douglas (Deborah) Clark of Sandusky, Illinois; and Barry Clark of Sandusky, Illinois.

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Travis, Ormonte' (Kelsey), Donesha, Ja'Myiah, Ja'Mont, and Jai'Aunna; and her great-grandchildren, Kohen, Kamden, A'Lani, Germany, and Willa Rose.

Queenie also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends to mourn her passing. Among those especially dear to her was her lifelong friend and confidant, Eugene Oats.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.C. Price and Elizabeth (Price) Crittendon; her father, Eddie Clark Sr.; and her son, Orlando LaMont Clark.

Though Queenie has left this earthly life, her memory will live on through the family and loved ones she leaves behind. Her love, laughter, strength, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The love she gave so freely will continue to be felt in the lives of her family and friends, reminding them that she will never be forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Queenie. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed and cherished.
