Robert "Bob"
Faith
Dec 6, 1951 — Oct 30, 2026
Decatur
Robert “Bob” Wayne Faith, 74, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away at 12:06 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, in Marion, Illinois, with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born on December 6, 1951, in Lincoln, Illinois, the son of Robert L. and Ruth (Robinson) Faith. On June 30, 2012, he married the love of his life, Linda (Remmert) Faith, who survives.
In addition to his beloved wife, Linda, Bob is survived by his son, Rob (Danielle) Faith, and daughter, Melissa (Michael) Johnson, both of Normal, Illinois; stepson, Jeremy (Stephanie) McCain of Mt. Pulaski, Illinois; and stepdaughter, Katrina (Beau) Bundy of Camden, Tennessee.
He was a proud grandfather to Logan, Quinton, and Easton Faith; Justin and Jayson Johnson; Grady and Emmett McCain; and Isaac, Gabrielle, and Harper Bundy.
Bob is also survived by his three sisters, Mary (Bill) Moore of Wills Point, Texas, Susan (Mark) Hickey of Marion, Illinois, and Lynda Letterle of St. Joseph, Illinois; brother-in-law, Lenny (Rita) Remmert of Lincoln, Illinois; and Walter Maus of Chestnut, Illinois. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, one uncle, Carl Faith, cousins, and dear friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law; and his lifelong friend, Terry Dean Moore.
Bob retired from Caterpillar in Decatur after many years of service. Retirement gave him the opportunity to enjoy one of the things he loved most—farming. He especially enjoyed helping good friends during harvest season and hauling grain.
A 1970 graduate of Mt. Pulaski High School, Bob was an avid sports enthusiast. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and softball, as well as golfing with friends. His love of sports continued through the years, and he especially enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their many activities and events.
Bob grew up attending First Christian Church of Mt. Pulaski and later became a member of Illiopolis Christian Church. He also attended The Journey in Marion, Illinois.
In his later years, if Bob wasn't found attending one of his grandchildren's events, chances were he was settled comfortably in his favorite easy chair, watching a John Wayne movie or another western, with his beloved dog, Izzie, curled up on his lap.
Bob will be remembered for his big, ornery smile, his teasing nature, and the joy he brought to those around him. He had a way of making people smile, and his presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Pulaski Athletic Association or to the family, c/o Linda Faith, 3206 Sunset Terrace, Marion, IL 62959. Contributions may also be made through Venmo at @Linda-Faith-1.
Ministry of Comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
