Robert Herschel McClanahan

Robert Herschel McClanahan passed away at home on February 25, 2026, after a long battle with COPD. Born on July 15, 1957, he was 68 years old.

Robert was a Navy veteran and a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William McClanahan and Nancy (Cook) McClanahan; his brothers, William “Billy” McClanahan and Tom McClanahan; his infant sister, Mary Ann; his nephew, Brett McClanahan; and his best friend, Edward Roznowski.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy McClanahan; his children, Jill Spiller and her wife, Rachael, Steven Pruitt, Joseph Pruitt and his wife, Amber, and Bobbie McClanahan Ridgeway and her husband, Kevin; his grandchildren, Tyler, Kansas, Alex, Drezden, Kyleigh, Alexis, Cameron, and Robbie; his great-grandchildren, Delilah and Dayzlee; his siblings, Carol Walters and her husband, Jack, and John Patrick McClanahan and his wife, Kathi; as well as many beloved extended family members and friends.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
