It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruth Ann Pulcher, 84, of Murphysboro, Illinois, on Monday, September 21, 2026, at her home.

Ruth was born July 25, 1942, in Jackson, Tennessee, to Harry and Helen Rains. She married Gilbert R. Pulcher on July 30, 1960. They shared 64 years of marriage before his passing in 2024.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, and her grandson, Trent Pulcher, who passed away in 2025.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her children, Beth (Bob) Dallas, Terri (Ed) Miller, Tom (Pam) Pulcher, and Tim (Kara) Pulcher; grandchildren, Craig (Ellen) Etherton, Erika (Caleb) Dierick, Austin Pulcher, Jacob (Emily) Miller, John (Halie) Dallas, Caitlan (Luke) Skagg, Logan (Bobbi) Dallas, and Justin (Kaili) Pulcher; and seven great-grandchildren.

There will be no formal services, in accordance with Ruth’s personal wishes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Murphysboro.

The ministry of comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
