Sheryl Rose Sapinski

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sheryl (Cheri) Sapinski of Christopher, Illinois, who went to be with her Lord on January 20, 2026, at Herrin Hospital. Her daughter was by her side. As per her wishes, Cheri will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Christopher.

Cheri was preceded, in death by her parents Marie and Michael Sapinski and one brother R. Wayne Sapinski, and his daughter Crystal Lea. She leaves behind her daughter Tasha Sapinski of Christopher, and one son Michael Summers.

Three loving grandchildren. Krystal Sapinski of West Frankfort, Jonathan & Aleyah Sapinski of Christopher and Calista Stangle of Christopher.

She has also left behind her 5 great grandchildren Khalil, Kayce, Sofia, Emilia, and one we haven't met, just yet.

Cheri loved spending her time with Eleanor Blaze, listening to her music, being outside in nature, and being around her many lifelong friends, Richard Gulley, Christian Michael, Karla Grizzell Mohr, Danika Tolbert, along with the many other people she so deeply cared for.

Her cremation is being handled by Southern Cremation and Burial Services. Any donations would be appreciated and used to help with the costs and to honor her, in this time of loss...
