Stephanie Ann Knight, age 52, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024, with her husband and daughter by her side just 3 months after marrying the love of her life David Johnson. Born on March 27, 1972, in Paducah, Kentucky, Stephanie grew up in Marion, Illinois, where she worked for Banterra Bank for 35 years, she was known for her warm heart, unwavering faith in God, and vibrant spirit.
Stephanie had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome. She never met a stranger and was always quick to offer a kind word and a smile, lighting up every room she entered. Her positive outlook and boundless kindness touched everyone she met.An adventurer at heart, Stephanie found joy on the water, whether boating on lakes or relaxing on the beach. She had a love for travel and felt especially drawn to the tropics, where she could bask in the sun and the sea. She and her husband had been looking forward to a special cruise to Alaska, and it will be there, in the beauty of Alaska’s landscape, that her husband will fulfill her final wish by spreading her ashes. Stephanie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Duke.
Stephanie will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her compassionate heart, and her steadfast faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love, positivity, and countless memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Stephanie is survived by her devoted husband, David Johnson; daughter Jessalyn (John) Monroe; grandchildren Gracie, Jackson and Luke Monroe; parents, David Knight and Carolyn (Willard) Ellis; in-laws, Joseph and Marla Johnson, brother-in laws, Shawn (Nanette) Johnson, Jeremy (Carrie) Johnson and Steve Johnson, as well as many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in beath by her grandparents, Lester and Virginia Cox and Maurice and Minnie Knight.
A Celebration of Stephanie’s Life will be held at a later date, allowing loved ones to come together to honor her memory and the beautiful light she brought to their lives.
Final Arrangements were Lovingly Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
