Suzanne Alice Gorrell, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of intelligence, wit, humor, honesty, and a feisty spirit that will be deeply missed. Raised by her loving parents, Don and Alice Gorrell, Suzanne shared a close bond with her sister, Donna. Their childhood, spent between Simi Valley, California, and Pinckneyville, Illinois, was filled with laughter, love, and Suzanne’s unmistakable spark.
Suzanne had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, think, and feel at ease. Her sharp mind, quick wit, and refreshing honesty made her truly unforgettable. Even in difficult times, she found light and humor, reminding others not to take life too seriously. Her laughter was a gift, and her bold, genuine nature drew people to her.
A lifelong animal lover—especially of dogs—Suzanne’s compassion reflected her kind and gentle heart. She is survived by her beloved niece, Haley Bolves, with whom she shared a deep, loving bond. Their relationship was filled with joy, support, and an unbreakable connection. Suzanne touched many lives, creating community through her warmth, humor, and authenticity.
She will be remembered as a vibrant, fiercely honest, and delightfully feisty soul who left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held at Victory Christian Fellowship on May 1st at 10:00 am. All are welcome to celebrate her life and share memories of the joy she brought into the world.
Final Arrangements were Lovingly Entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
