MURPHYSBORO
Terry L. Payne, 64, of Murphysboro, IL passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 at his home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1956 to Dixie and Kenneth Payne in Chicago, IL.
He retired from the US Navy after 20 years of service in 1995. He volunteered at the VFW and the American Legion which eventually led to a job.
He married Joyce Garris on Nov. 7, 1979. She passed away on Jan. 28, 2014.
He is survived by his mother, Dixie Payne; 4 sisters, Beverly Griffin, Mary (Rob) Wood, Frances (Jack) Robbins, Connie (Lonnie) Cox; 1 brother, John (Sharon) Payne; and numerous nephews and nieces, several great nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Payne, and grandparents.
A small Memorial is planned on October 16, 2021, at Murphysboro American Legion from 1:00pm -3:00pm
