Thomas E. Ihle

Thomas E. Ihle, of Murphysboro, Illinois, was born on December 4, 1939, and passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on August 1, 2026.

Thomas was a kind, loving, and wonderful man whose gentle nature touched everyone who knew him. Like his father, Herman Charles Ihle, he shared a deep love for nurturing and growing plants, a passion that brought him great joy throughout his life.

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gilda (Martorani) Ihle; his children, Timothy Ihle, Gina (Lawrence III "Ollie") Olivarez, Trent Ihle, and Todd Ihle; and his cherished granddaughters, Lauryn Olivarez and Brooklyn Ihle. He was also a proud step-grandfather to Nolan (Andrea) Olivarez and Lawrence IV Olivarez.

He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Martorani, and her sons, David and Daniel Martorani.

Thomas will be forever loved, deeply missed, and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ministry of Comfort was lovingly entrusted to Southern Cremation and Burial Services of Murphysboro, Illinois.
